State of the Union

Crowded Kitchen Players presents the timely 1946 Pulitzer Prize winning comedy, “State of the Union,” by Howard Lindsay & Russel Crouse, June 4th to June 20th at McCoole’s Arts & Events Place, 10 S. Main St. Quakertown.

Power broker James Conover and strong willed newspaper publisher Kay Thorndyke think they have the perfect Presidential candidate: Grant Matthews, a prominent industrialist; popular with the public because of his strong controversial views. Matthews agrees to run, thinking he can do so without compromising his plan to be an honest candidate. As weeks go on, and Matthews is pressured to make more and more concessions, he realizes that in order to be honest, he must risk alienating special interest political groups, and that could cost him the election!

The Crowded Kitchen Player cast includes David “Oz” Oswald, Pamela Wallace, Jack McGavin, Elizabeth Buss, Scott Van Nortwick, Don Swan, Jr., Nancy Mikkelsen, Diane Bakos, Sharon Ferry, Jim Symmons and Alexandra Racines.
