McCoole’s Events Place Hosts Benefit for Local Musician Matt Roman

Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016

November 11, 2014 – Over 350 devoted followers of musician and teacher, Matt Roman, rocked the day away to the tunes of 10 different acts at McCoole’s Events Place on Sunday, October 12, 2014. Proceeds from this event were earmarked to help defray the costs of treatment and medications for Roman who suffers from liver disease. Over $5,500 was raised for the cause according to Roman, who was able to secure the theater at McCoole’s Events Place at no cost from owner, Jan Hench.

“Having such an event at McCoole’s is why we need to support local theater,” remarks Hench. The talent at this benefit was amazing and all those who came really enjoyed the music and dancers.”

Appearing at the event were international recording artists’ Bobby Messano and Bobby Radcliff, as well as local favorites Mike Dugan, Chicago Joe Mac, Gary Rissmiller’s Co-Op Bop, Arnie Englund’s Blues Roots, UBACE Kids Rock, Mad Dog & BNO alumni and Glue Factory.

Roman, a native of Perkasie, has been teaching guitar, bass and stage presentation to beginners through professionals since 2001. He is also a full-time musician under the moniker “Roman,” appearing at local and New York venues and touring the US and Europe. He studied under jazz giant Pat Martino, played bass for blues legend Bobby Radcliff, and performed on stage with John Popper (Blues Traveler,) Charles Fambrough (Jazz Messengers,) and Bobby Messano (Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood) and others. He has opened for countless punk, rock, and blues artists.

“McCoole’s offered the perfect venue for this event,” notes Roman. “As a result of Jan Hench’s experienced care, handling and promotion of the R4R Benefit, we were able to raise the money we did, entertain hundreds of people with 10 different acts, all in one day!”

McCoole’s Arts & Events Place Opens The Gallery

New Upstairs Venue Expansion

Quakertown, PA – McCoole’s Arts & Events Place officially opened The Gallery, a new upstairs catering and event venue, on December 6. Making use of empty space on the same floor as the building’s black box theatre, this new room accommodates a sit down dinner for 40 – 45 people, or 100 people for a cocktail party or mixer. The Gallery will be served by the same in-house kitchen as the other two venues and has its own bar.

“We saw a need in the community for more entertaining venues and the space was already there,” according to Jan Hench, owner of McCoole’s Arts & Events Place. “We realized opening The Gallery would help meet the demand.” The Gallery gets its name from its appearance; with large windows that flood the room with light during the day, it appears like an art museum or art studio. Hence the name “The Gallery.”

The Gallery makes for the third event space available in the Arts and Events Place, joining the Cobblestone Parlor and Celestial Salon on the first floor. The Cobblestone Parlor can accommodate 45 for a sit down dinner, 55 for a cocktail party; the Celestial Salon accommodates 60 for a sit down dinner, 75 for a cocktail party. The two downstairs venues can be opened up to one space accommodating 90 – 130 attendees with or without a dance floor.

McCoole’s Arts & Events Place provides a large variety of services including, but not limited to: weddings, receptions, business meetings, seminars, banquets, catering, private parties, theater, art classes, concerts, shows, special events, beer festivals, a brewery and wine tastings.

“We’re now equipped to hold three events simultaneously,” added Hench. “Or a conference could use all three spaces. We offer room for three breakout sessions with the ability to eat in all three rooms. Or there could be two breakout sessions with food served in just one room. We offer quite a few options along with our 185 seat theater where all attendees can gather,” said Hench.

To reserve any of the rooms in the McCoole’s Arts & Events Place, please call 215-538-1779. Visit our Photo Gallery to see photos of this new venue.

Rock for Roman a Success!

Tuesday, November 11th, 2014

Dear Jan
I want to thank you and your staff for such a memorable event. From the moment we discussed permission and promotion of the Rock For Roman Benefit to the day of the event I was always greeted with a smile and taken care of promptly. Watching how quickly you attended to matters and problems was impressive. I don’t know a lot about organizing such all-day-long affairs, but I know unorganized when I see it, and I saw none of that. As a result of your experienced care, handling, and promotion of the R4R Benefit we raised over $5,500 and entertained about 350-400 people with 10 different acts, all in one day.I received nothing but positive comments from those involved, in addition to all kinds of interest in holding more events there in the future. Thanks to you all once again for making a trying time in my life a pleasurable experience and memory. I look forward to doing business with you in the future.
Sincerely, Matt R
